Single Day Scheduling

Single Day Scheduling

No two camps look the same, so their schedules shouldn't have to either. Although the Camptivities system is designed to serve five or seven day program schedules, there are a few tricks you can use to alter the system to only schedule a single day if you run a program that repeats the same schedule day after day. It is important to note that using the system for single day scheduling means one set schedule for both your campers/groups and staff.

Although we know you will ultimately be running the same program each day, the way you'll end up scheduling the week in Camptivities is by scheduling ONE day of programming. If you need to make adjustments to certain days of the week, you could do so in an excel document after pulling various reports.

Step One: Day Schedules

Begin by creating your day schedule for your program. Here, you can include as much or as little information as you would like. Don't forget to mark which periods are camper schedule or group schedule and which periods should be run through the auto scheduler. Lastly, make sure to hit "Save" in the upper left corner before leaving this screen.

Pro Tip: Some camps prefer to list just their activity periods, while others prefer to add the full day including meals, rest hours, snacks, etc.

Step Two: Day Schedule Copy

Once you have created your main day schedule, you want to make a copy of it to use as your place holder for the additional days of the week we don't want to create a new schedule for. To make a copy, go back to the Day Schedules main screen. If you hover your mouse over the day schedule you want to copy, you will see what looks like two rectangles overlapping, select that to generate an exact copy of the previously made day schedule.

Step Three: Edit Copied Day Schedule

Now that you have your copied day schedule, a few adjustments need to be made to ensure activities are not scheduled. Whether you selected camper scheduling or group scheduling, you'll want to leave those boxes checked, but remove the check mark for the auto scheduling column. This will eliminate the ability for the system to schedule activities. If you would like, you can also adjust the name of the day schedule. Make sure to hit "Save" in the upper left corner after you make these changes.

Step Four: Apply Day Schedules to the Weekly Schedule

After you have finalized your day schedules, it is time to apply them to a weekly schedule. Under the Weekly Schedules tab, you'll want to set the first day of your programming with the original day schedule. The remainder of the week should be set with the copied schedule that was adjusted to reflect no auto scheduling.
