Collecting Camper Activity Preferences 

To some, camper elective activity scheduling is the focus of their summer. Typically gathering and organizing all the preferences is the most difficult step. With Camptivities, that process becomes quite simple. Whether you are collecting two preferences or 25, everything will be organized nicely in camper profiles. There you can review everyone's selection and make last minute manual changes as needed.

There are two methods of collecting camper preferences, one is done prior to camp, the other during the summer. How you go about collecting the information can be done in a multitude of ways. Outlined below are three of the most common ways to collect camper preference. 

Collecting Preferences Pre-Camp: Parent Email from Camptivities

Did you know you can send out an email to all your camp families and have them make their activity preference selection all through Camptivities? The email, sent by you directly from Camptivities, will prompt families to select their camper's activity preferences. Once they submit their preferences, everything is stored in their camper profile. Learn more about the Activity Preference Email process here.

Collecting Camper Preferences Pre-Camp: Manual Upload

Some camps already have a method of collecting their campers activity preference that work well for them and their families - that is OK! Using the camper import sheet, we can add your campers already chosen activity preferences and do a mass upload of both their information and activity preferences. Talk with your Camptivities Support Representative if you have already collected your camper's activity preferences and wish to have those choices imported into the system.

Collecting Preferences At Camp

We understand the value in allowing campers to experience a variety of activities before making their selection, or allowing them to change up their activities mid-session. Collecting camper activity preferences on camp, can be done in multitude of ways. 

• Do you have campers fill out a preference sheet or attend a camper sign up fair? A manual upload, as listed above can be done. You can wait until all activity preferences have been collected before doing the mass import. Once you have everything listed out in your excel document, send it off and we will get everything added to your Camptivities account. 
• An additional option is using tablets to collect the information. Program staff or counselors can use a tablet to collect each campers activity preferences in a quick and seem-less fashion. Simply select the camper's name from the drop down and select each preference. Multiple tablets can be going at once too, to increase efficiency of collecting information. Be sure to hit "Save" in the upper right corner after you make the activity preference selections.
