Importance of Creating a Template Session

Template sessions are a great space to play around, make adjustments and test the waters before finalizing summer plans in each of your sessions. When you first started with Camptivities, we walked you through the set up using a template session. You were likely encouraged to put all the possible groups, divisions and activities you would ever need in at that time, regardless of your upcoming summer plans. Creating this template session provided you a foundation that could be used for summers to come.

Groups & Divisions

Starting off by entering all your possible groups/division into a template session will set you up for success down the road. From there you'll have the flexibility to add all or a select few to each of your summer sessions. It's easier to pull from one list each year, rather than always entering in a new list for each session - plus think about how often your summer enrollment changes day to day leading up to the start of camp!

Activities

When creating new activities, each are unique to your camp, not a particular session. However, group or camper eligibility is specific to each individual session. Because of this, it is important to add in all the activities you may use throughout the summer season - even if a certain activity is only offered during select sessions. When scheduling a session that may not offer all the listed activities, you can switch the activity setting to manual or uncheck all the groups to remove their eligibility.
